Many celebrities build their reputation and success based on their looks, which is why they can feel more self-conscious than any of us when they are unhappy about a part of their body.
This is one of the reasons why many famous names have undergone hair transplants, whether they have received nasty comments in the media, or they are worried they will do in the future.
Owen Warner
The anxiety of losing hair is so strong in many people that even heartthrob Owen Warner from Hollyoaks, who is just 23 years old, has revealed he has fixed his receding hairline.
Warner, who starred in last year’s I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here!, told the Daily Mail he has undergone hair loss treatments and medication to “strengthen his hairline”.
He admitted a fear of balding, saying he “doesn’t want to go down the route of Hollywood celebrities like Vin Diesel or Dwayne The Rock Johnson, who are completely bald”.
Rosie Williams
It is not just men who are keen to transform their hair, as reality TV star Rosie Williams has gone public with her hair transplant.
The Love Island celebrity suffered from hair loss after her locks started falling out due to stress and she was left with thinning hair and bald patches.
Prior to her treatment, Williams, 31, said: “My hair has continued to thin and I’m experiencing bald patches, the overall hairline has completely changed shape and I don’t even recognise myself anymore.”
She added: “Hair loss isn’t something I would wish on anybody, it’s completely impacted my overall happiness and confidence.”
Wayne Rooney
Perhaps one of the best known advocates of hair transplants is Wayne Rooney, who decided to do something about his early hair loss in 2011, at just 25 years of age.
The footballer underwent follicular unit extraction, which involves removing individual hairs from the body and implanting them into the scalp.
This is a popular procedure for those who suffer from male pattern baldness, as the grafting of individual hairs can create a more natural-looking and fuller hairline.
Rooney didn’t shy away from the treatment, and took to Twitter at the time to tell everyone what he had done.
“Hi all there’s my head. It will take a few months to grow. Still a bit bloody to. But that’s all normal. #hairwego [sic],” he wrote.
He also tweeted: “Just to confirm to all my followers I have had a hair transplant. I was going bald at 25 why not. I’m delighted with the result [sic].”
The footballer succeeded in making hair loss less of a stigma and encouraged people to think more seriously about having treatments.
Jude Law
There are lots of celebrities who might have had hair loss treatments who have not been as confident in sharing their experience.
This may include Jude Law, with the actor reportedly having undergone treatment twice, once in 2011 and the second in 2014.
Photos prior to 2011 reveal a strong receding hairline, which he often tried to disguise under hats. However, later pictures show a much fuller head of hair.
Although some celebrities like to keep their treatments under wraps, there is nothing to be ashamed about when it comes to hair loss. For more information on how to solve your receding hairline, contact our trichologists in central London.
